This year’s event focused on Learning cities - City as place of learning an issue of universal importance for urban development. On 29 June, after the opening speech of Dr. Richard Erkens (German Centre for Venetian Studies), an introduction by Reiner Nagel (Bundesstiftung Baukultur ) and a presentation by Marie Macauley (UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning )Sergio Pascolo, President of Venice Urban Lab and owner of Sergio Pascolo Architects, held his speech combining the concepts of Lifelong Learning and Learning Cities as an opportunity for regeneration and revitalization of the residence in the specific case of Venice.
In the round table that follows, Reiner Nagel talked with Donatella Calabi, President of the Rialto Project Association, Guido Jaccarino, owner of Unisve srl, Luca Molà Director of Warwick University Venice, and Myriam Pilutti Namer of the Istituto Veneto per i Beni Culturali. During the event, we engaged in stimulating discussions, shared innovative ideas and witnessed the power of collaboration in shaping the #future of our #cities. The concept of learning cities resonated deeply with everyone as we explored how education, culture and urban development intertwine to create inclusive and sustainable urban environments. We keep the dialogue alive and work together to create cities that inspire, educate and celebrate our shared cultural heritage.
