Events, initiatives, workshops, and projects
The training and design initiatives we offer are synergistic and methodologically complementary, with a strong connection to themes of the environment, landscape, sustainability, and the city as an ecosystem. In this context, Venice Urban Lab has identified a series of thematic focuses, initially presented as areas for in-depth exploration and later developed as topics for practical and operational application within workshops and other activities.
Our projects aim to ignite dynamics that restore Venice to being seen as a livable city, not just a tourist destination. To achieve this goal, we organize activities designed to raise awareness and create constructive dialogues, projects that stimulate and strengthen collective consciousness, and urban regeneration events, accompanied by small, tangible actions for transformation.

Placemaking in Venice
On the initiative of Venice Urban Lab, the Festival of the New European Bauhaus 2024, held in Brussels, came to Venice as a satellite event in the Santa Marta district.
50 participants, including residents, students and young people from different Italian and European cities, exchanged ideas and proposals for the future of Santa Marta, promoting community and innovative actions. Among the topics discussed: development of green spaces, sustainable mobility and support for local commerce
Intentional Venetians
The initiative presents the stories of individuals who have chosen Venice as their city of residence, either recently or for a long time. In response to depopulation, it highlights a lesser-known phenomenon: the attraction of new inhabitants.
Through short interviews, continuously updated, we discover the experiences of those who have decided to live in the city, offering a positive vision of Venice as a dynamic and vital place, capable of attracting different generations and professions
Dialoghi Per La Città
The initiative offers a space for dialogue on urban regeneration and co-design of public spaces in Venice, with a strong focus on the dissemination of concrete projects and local initiatives.
It aims to enhance the territory and strengthen community cohesion, involving citizens, associations, professionals and young people
Call for Spaces
The CALL FOR SPACES, IDEAS, PLACES, BUILDINGS is an initiative launched to involve the citizens of Venice in a participatory process aimed at mapping abandoned or unused spaces, buildings, and places in the lagoon city and the mainland. This project, carried out exclusively online, represented a collective call to identify and enhance hidden or neglected urban resources, promoting a shared vision for the future of the city...
