Venice Urban Lab

The initiative to know the real situation of the unused spaces in Venice, launched in June 2022 by Venice Urban Lab and Venice Calls is going ahead with interesting results.

In the weeks leading up to the 11 June event on the New European Bauhaus in Venice, we received over 40 of your reports of empty and potentially transformable spaces in the city of Venice. The CALL is still open and we are getting new reports with which we update work in progress the map that will be the basis for an open debate on the potential of the many places unused, abandoned, empty, in the city, in the lagoon and in the metropolitan territory.

The goal is a path of knowledge and shared growth to activate bottom up processes of transformation through the participation and involvement of citizens by preparing first a mapping and then a reconnaissance of ideas to regenerate the common urban goods with shared functions
